The compilation that launched Third Ear into the consciousness of House and Techno aficionados worldwide, while also alerting them to the fact that Detroit was about much more than Detroit Techno. Delano Smith's first production is on this compilation, while Norm Talley also came to the attention of the world through this comp. Rck Wilhite is here, now an internationally acknowledged DJ and producer. Theo Parrish's Falling Up, all 12 glorious minutes of it, is here. Eddie Fowlkes too, shows how the genre boundaries do not exist in Detroit. Alton Miller too, comes with the down-tempo Tulum, showing that it's not all 120-130+bpm in Detroit. It can be said with some truth that it was this compilation and the follow-up releases in the series that opened the door for artists and DJs like Patrice Scott, Keith Worthy, and others to come through.
